Donald Walker Obituary

Donald Lee Walker, age 88, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025.

Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Donald was the son of the late George and Mildred (Edmonston) Walker and the beloved husband of 65 years to Shirley J. Walker. They were married in 1959 and together built a beautiful life grounded in love, laughter, and family.

Donald proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957 as a Radio Operator on the Com 6th Fleet. After his service, he went on to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Edgewood.

A quiet and devoted man, Donald was most at peace at home with Shirley, vacationing in Maine where lobster dinners became a treasured tradition. He had a deep love shad fishing in the tailrace of Conowingo Dam and reading action-adventure books.

Donald was a proud and loving father and grandfather. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren capturing their laughter and milestones on video. The house was always filled with warmth, humor, and the sound of his hearty laughter.

A gifted baritone, Donald was a longtime member of the SPEBSQSA where he found joy in music and fellowship.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and the deep love for his family. His presence brought light and laughter, joy. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Donald is survived by his sons, Ronald Keith (Donna Irene) Walker, and Mark Allen Walker, grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Walker, Victoria Michelle Walker, Jeremy Lee Walker, and Wesley Alexandar Walker.
