Richard Shaw Obituary

A native of Baltimore, respected architect, and active Scout for 70 years, Richard Lea Shaw died January 5, 2025. He is survived by his spouse, Corinne Shaw, his brother, James Shaw and his wife, Grace.

Rick was born on September 20,1946, to Arthur and Helen Shaw in Baltimore, Maryland. His family moved to Lutherville in 1961, where he lived for the rest of his life. He discovered Boy Scouts at 9 and was actively engaged in either troop or administrative Scouting roles until his death. He achieved a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1972 from Auburn University. (War Eagle!) Rick worked for Whitman Requardt and Associates for 50 years designing large municipal and military structures. He and Corinne LePage married in 1993 and enjoyed many trips visiting family and sightseeing in the United States and Europe. His hobbies included wood and leather work as well as the meticulous construction of a miniature railroad. In recent months, Rick was proud to complete a book about his life in Scouting, Smoke in My Eyes. He is buried in Bee Tree Cemetery on Kaufman Road.
