Valerie and Tim were the first people to welcome us to the neighborhood when we moved to Harford County in 1987 and that friendship has continued over the past nearly forty years. Through Girl Scouts, sports, numerous camps, New Year's Eve and Fourth of July at the Inner Harbor, graduations, weddings, anniversaries, and baby showers, we celebrated together. The Pughs threw epic parties so were always happy to be invited.
One of the first things I noticed about Valerie was her devotion to family. I remember her regular visits to her mother and her sister when they often did not recognize her. She demonstrated clearly her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family.
When I picture Valerie now, she has that signature infectious smile and laugh. I'm sure she had her moments of less happy times but it's hard to recall her expressing them.
Thank you for many happy memories, Valerie.
