Died: February 13, 2025 in Peoria, IL
Jerry L. Thompson, 66, of Malden passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, surrounded by his wife.
Jerry was born on June 8, 1958 in Pontiac, the son of Earl "Vern" LaVern and Ruth Emma (Hemken) Thompson. He married Tammy Lyn Hopper on July 2, 2010 at New Hope Church of the Nazarene. Jerry worked for C&C Electric before starting his own company, Jerry Thompson Electrical. He enjoyed making copper art, cooking his famous Italian Beef and Mac and Cheese. Jerry and Tammy liked traveling to either Florida or Tennessee for the winters. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Thompson; two children, Chad (Shannon) Thompson and Karla Johnson; five bonus children, Melissa (Gene) Carrie, Sean (Emily) Odell, Brett (Dava) Klinefelter, Kaleb Klinefelter and Kyle (Brittany) Odell; 20 grandchildren; three siblings, Debbie Moreland, Mark (Caroline) Thompson, Tony (Chris) Thompson; along with many nieces and nephews; also special friends Bob (Betsy) Lucas and Gary Noonan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held from 11:00am -3:00pm on April 19, 2025 at New Hope Church of the Nazarene. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to the family or New Hope Church of the Nazarene.
