O'Fallon, Illinois - Carol Lynn Williamson, beloved wife of Jim Williamson for 54 years, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in O'Fallon, Illinois, on 1 April 2026.
Carol was born on October 14, 1948, in Spokane, WA, one of five daughters of Edward and Lucille Vandeleur. As part of a military family, she moved frequently during her childhood, spending her formative years in Spokane; Lake Charles, LA; Moses Lake, WA; and Fair Oaks, California. She married James P. Williamson on September 18, 1971, at Mather Air Force Base (Sacramento) in California.

She was a loving mother of two boys, and a steadfast and supportive military spouse, creating homes in Biloxi, MS; Sacramento, CA; Long Beach, CA; Mons Belgium; Biloxi, MS (again) and Anchorage, AK. In 1986, the family settled in O'Fallon, Illinois, where Carol was a valued employee at the JC Penney store at St. Clair Square for over 20 years.
Beloved by her sisters for her calm certitude, she had a sense of humor easily missed if you were not paying attention and a marriage full of love and laughter. She will be deeply missed.
A faithful member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Carol served her parish in many ministries including as an altar angel and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She lived her faith through service, generosity, and dedication to helping those in need, asking nothing in return.
