June 18, 1935 - March 28, 2026

Freeburg, Illinois - Jimmie Dell Tadlock, 90, of Freeburg, IL, born June 18, 1935, in Marissa, IL, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Carol Tadlock.

Jim was a well-known union carpenter contractor, building many beautiful custom homes in the local area. His sons, Phil and Matthew, worked alongside him until his retirement. Jim was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Freeburg, IL, as well as a past-president of the church council. Jim enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and canoeing with his family. His two favorite locations were Alley Springs and Montauk, MO. In addition, he enjoyed duck, goose, and deer hunting with his sons and oldest grandson, Brad.

Surviving are his children, Lynn (Walter "Bud") Welch of Belleville, IL, Phil (Sheri) Tadlock of Freeburg, IL, and Matthew (Sherri) Tadlock of Hecker, IL.; four grandchildren, Brad, Becky, Amy, and Ethan; five great-grandchildren, Carter, Ella, Rogger, Tobin, and Beau; a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cedar Trails Assisted Living staff for providing a warm and caring home for the last 10 months of Jim's life.

According to Jim's wishes, cremation services will be held.

Burial will be at a later date, at Marissa Cemetery, alongside Nancy.
