Dennis Bromenschenkel Obituary

Dennis Bromenschenkel, age 89, of Sauk Rapids, passed away at Beehive Homes of Maple Grove May 29, 2025. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morrill. The Rev. Matthew Langager will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. at the church. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Dennis John Bromenschenkel was born Sept. 29, 1935, one of 12 children in St. Cloud, to Bernard and Lillian (Carlin) Bromenschenkel. Dennis grew up on a farm and was a hard worker. He earned his GED from St. Cloud Tech High School. Dennis was a good provider and spent his career at Honeywell. He was a gifted machine repairman and was promoted to a supervisor position. Upon his retirement, he devoted his time to Habitat for Humanity in Grand Rapids He and Annette spent their time fishing and boating with their grandchildren. Dennis also enjoyed restoring old John Deere tractors and was an avid wood worker, and his family will enjoy the pens, bowls and kitchen implements that Dennis created for years to come. Dennis was known for his jokey sense of humor and his love of country music, which he sang up until his death.

He is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Sandy), Brian, Cynthia (Robert Forrester), Kymberly (Robert Wright), Julie (Mike Scherber) and Kristin (Glenn Oja); as well as 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years, Annette; brothers, Richard, Kenneth and Jerry; sisters, Jean and Mary Ann; and granddaughter, Amalia Williams.
