Margaret Bullett Obituary

Margaret Ann "Maggie" (Grady) Bullett, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, July 25, 2025, just weeks before celebrating her 94th birthday.

Maggie was born in North Adams on August 14, 1931, a daughter of the late Leo C. Grady, Sr., and Margaret Emma Colwell Grady, and lived in Pittsfield her entire life. Monnie, as she was known in school, graduated from St. Joseph's Grammar School in 1945, St. Joseph's High School in 1949 and the Pittsfield Secretarial School in 1950. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Church.

Maggie had a varied working career, starting at W.T. Grants during high school. She later worked in customer service at New England Telephone, and at Berkshire Armored Car. Maggie and her sister Fay owned Maggie's Artificial Flower Shop where they worked their creative genius. From there she worked for 6 years at Berkshire Mutual Insurance, and then at Berkshire Bank & Trust, retiring after 16 years. Retirement only lasted a brief time. Maggie found a marvelous part time job at Bagels Too. What a happy 16 years! She finally retired from Bagels Too in 2017, at the age of 86.

Maggie was an incredibly hardworking woman, an avid book collector and reader, and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She treasured her friendships with all her nieces, nephews and friends.

Maggie married the late Donald J. Bullett, a Pittsfield School teacher, on June 19, 1954. Together they had five beautiful children; she is survived by Teresa Marie Conte of Cranston, RI, David John Bullett of Sacramento, CA, Thomas Grady Bullett and Nanette of Pittsfield and her son-in-law Willian Mallory and was predeceased by Nancy Lynn (Bullett) Mallory (2021), Robert Michael Bullett (twin of Thomas, 1987), and son-in-law John R. Conte (2025). Maggie is also survived by 6 granddaughters: Traci Bullett, Stephanie Pero, Nicole Hamill, Lisa Rebello, Natasha Conte and Marina Conte; 9 great-grandchildren: Kaili Bullett, Izabella LeFavour, Logan Baisden, Ethan Hamill and Ricky Lee, Logan Rebello, Ciara Kickery, Vincent Rebello and Mateo Rebello and one great-great-grandchild, Jack de Jesus.
