Kellie Gibson Obituary
February 2, 1964 - June 7, 2024
Kellie Gibson was an amazing advocate who colored outside the lines. She left us June 7, 2024, but taught us how to live large, tenaciously, gracefully and at peace with the journey.
Kellie was born February 2,1964, in Great Falls, Montana. She graduated from C.M. Russell and EMC with a Human Services degree.
Kellie worked at the YES house in Wyoming. Her daughters Charlee (1990) and Jordan (1993) were born there. Motherhood was something Kellie cherished. In 1994, Kellie moved to Utah working for the school district and a startup team for REBOUND, a corrections facility.
Kellie returned to Montana in 1996 and met the love of her life, Denise Boettcher. Kellie worked at the Juvenile Detention Center in Great Falls and became a founding partner in Mountain Peaks, Inc. where she worked until health issues forced her retirement.
In Kellie's last years, she was a strong, determined fighter, making a difference by volunteering with AmeriCorps, coordinating the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Laurel and substitute teaching.
The greatest joy in Kellie's life, besides motherhood, was being able to marry Denise in April of 2015. Denise and Kellie spent the last 3 years of her life living in Florida with Kellie's mom. Kellie's goal was to make two new friends every day.
Kellie is survived by her loving wife, Denise, her mother, Pat, her daughters Jordan and Charlee, sister, Tammie, nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Bert. Kellie left us with this: "I know the world was not ready for me. My only regret in life is not getting everything done. Believe in Kids! Believe People can Change! Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect! Above all, LOVE IS THE ANSWER! Celebrate my life and the memories you have by giving back and loving with all your heart.
Kellie's Celebration of Life will be held at The Front Porch in Laurel, MT on Friday, July 11th at 3 p.m. Come - have a Corona and share a story! Please donate school supplies in my memory.
