Helen King Obituary

Helen King (née Waller) passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, in Hanceville, AL, at the age of 89. Helen's life was marked by her love of family, her unwavering will and spirit for life, and her deep affection for stylish shoes.

Helen was a former resident of Helena, AL and a long-time community member of Episcopal Place in Birmingham, AL. She was a parishioner of the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church where she joyfully sang in the choir and created beautiful floral planters. Her commitment to her faith was a significant aspect of her life.

Understanding the value of education, Helen afforded her children a solid foundation of learning, a gift for which her family remains grateful. She enjoyed collecting rocks and crystals, was devoted to her chair yoga practice, and had a passion for fashion. Helen's professional journey included over 20 years of dedicated service in advertising sales at The L.M. Berry Company (Bellsouth).

Helen is survived by her loving family: children Rick (Donna) Walters, Laura Walters Lloyd, and Paul (Wendy) Walters; grandchildren Robbie (Lindsay) Huddleston, Jennifer Walters (Chad) Reagin, Cass Walters, Ryman Lloyd, and Trey (Marcie) Walters; nephews Aaron Waller and Sky Fairchild-Waller; five great-grandchildren; and sister Martha "Marti" Waller. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas "Billy Tom" Waller and Mary Aline Waller, and her brother, William Thomas "Tom" Waller.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Birmingham, AL. For more information, contact Laura at 615-519-4904.
