Oh just found out that Rebel passed. What a true light in this world he was. Enjoyed visiting Jake and Roy at their home and eating a wood fired pizza and having a drink. My condolences to Jake and his family

Rebel was a friend of one of my oldest and dearest friends. I only had the pleasure of meeting Rebel a handful of times but, those were memorable times. He was such a kind and fun loving gentleman. He did great work in his life and most definitely made the world a better place for all in his community and beyond. Blessings to Rebel, his family, close friends and colleagues. May he rest in peace.

Rebel and I were best friends at Yale Law School. We hung out on his roof and studied. We spent a summer in Birmingham being friends. I last saw Rebel at Yale Law reunion. Rebel touched my heart and taught me how to have fun. I will always remember Rebel in my heart.

I had no idea, I am so saddened to see this. I met Rebel only once and knew him briefly but he struck such an impression on me as a unique, smart, and funny person. Sending love and condolences to his loved ones, as I am sure there are many.

We are sad to lose our feisty, loving friend, Rebel. We have wonderful memories of our 30+ years knowing him, and loved that he found Jake. Whether we were skiing, sailing, supporting a charity, dining, watching football or jeopardy, Rebel always made every event and adventure. So grateful for the memories.

This is sad news. My deepest condolences to Reb's family. We were good friends during our days in Tuscaloosa. Whether it was a road trip to the Florida Keys, to listen to new music in Atlanta or a football game in Nashville, Rebel was up for it. We danced many a night to the new tunes of the day - Elvis Costello, the Talking Heads or the B-52s (The B's). Too much fun. Sorry I can't give you another hug my friend. Lots of love to Jake, Wendy and his entire family. "Roll Big Mama" and of course a big " Roll Tide " We will see you at the next big Bama reunion!

I am very sad . Rebel was a dear friend going back to our Bama days in the late 70's and early 80's . He was always quick to respond with any entertainment questions over the many years -- a top notch attorney -- a trusted friend indeed . Prayers to Jake , Wendy and his family and a final " Roll Tide " Rebel --- you were very loved !

Neither decades nor miles ever distanced us being the very best of friends since we became blood brothers and afficionadoes in 1979 while students at The University of Alabama, ROLL TIDE! As we matured, he stayed with me during college with my parents, I with him at his Homewood house (horrible old Gloria); at my DuPont Circle flat in Washington, D.C. and I came to West Hollywood where we revealed in food, fun, literature, poker and and an assortment of mild-mannered vices. We did our first Mardis-Gras Balls, behind the scenes White House/U.S. Capitol tours and assortment of adventures together that included me being at his house during the Northridge Earthquake -- all of that is to say, Reb WAS MY BROTHER - all the time, while we loved, enjoyed and fussed and it was all a delight! Love to my darling Jake and Reb's fabulous sisters and his assistant Wendy at Loeb, who weathered it all with grace. I LOVE YOU REB AND MISS YOU SO VERY MUCH, SWEET DARLING BOY! Peace be with you!

Reb was the youngest of the Richardson cousins. It is hard to accept that he had to suffer with pancreatic cancer. I loved you, Reb. You were a special sunshine in our family. Thank you, Jake for the tender care you gave him during this illness.

What a joy it was to grow up with Reb and to be close with his Aunt Evelyn who loved him deeply. We reconnected a few years back when my brother and Jake accomplished their Masters of Communication Management at USC. We had a wonder dinner at their beautiful home and shared stories old and new. He was witty even as a child and fun. He looked up to his big sisters and everyone with love and respect. How successful he was in so many ways. I´ll always treasure having had Reb touch my life and seeing first hand how proud his Aunt Evelyn was of he, Sandra and Susan as well as other nieces and nephews.
My condolences to Jake, his sisters, family and all who will miss him. Pamela Tinsley Jones

Rebel will be forever missed but never forgotten. Such an incredible person who was brilliant, strong, genuine, kind and beyond his years in maturity when we met in January 1975. Rebel welcomed me into Homewood High School journalism class as a young, new teacher from the business world and Auburn grad. Gratefully, he taught me more than I taught him. He not only excelled as a journalist but was recognized several times as Alabama Journalism Student of the Year. I remember Rebel best as a forever friend who early in my career saved me from termination for being a teacher of the truth. His mentoring led me to be the best version of myself as the years passed on. I visited Rebel in Los Angeles and met for lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel at his invitation. A true bucket list experience. We never spoke again but he was always in my heart and memories for what he gave me to weather the storms in life. Forever grateful. Rest in peace, my sweet friend. Roll Tide!!

It seems just a short while ago five year old Reb was the Ringbearer in our wedding. We watched him grow into a fine young man who made our family proud. We send our love and sympathy to Jake, Sandra, and Susan and to all of their family.
