Linda Hopwood Obituary

Linda Lou (Murdock) Hopwood, 84, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar. She was the widow of Keith Edward Hopwood, who passed away in 2016. They were married for 57 years.
Linda was born at Macon County Hospital in Decatur, Illinois on July 2, 1940, to Virgil and Genevieve Murdock. Linda graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School, Warrensburg, Illinois. She owned her own beauty shop and flower shop after being employed at Hurst-Roche in Hillsboro, Illinois.
Linda was a member of Fillmore Baptist Church, Fillmore, Illinois. She enjoyed playing the piano and will be remembered for her beautiful flower arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Linda is survived by her three children, Mark Hopwood and wife Mary of Bolivar, Paul Hopwood of Nebraska and Marcey Daniel and husband Scott of Bolivar; grandchildren, Rachel (Jason) Campbell, Leah (Michael) Gooley, Seth (Taylor) Hopwood, Kirsten, Abi, Neeley and Davis Daniel; great-grandchildren, Sydney Campbell, Cooper Campbell and Andrew Gooley; sisters, Jackie Smith, Barb Pasley and Cheryl Whitener.
A memorial service will be at Wellspring Baptist Fellowship in Bolivar, on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
