Margaret Irene McAllister

January 18, 1935 - January 9, 2024

Palmetto, Florida -

Margaret was born in Fairbanks, Iowa to John Shields and Madeline Phillips on January 18, 1935. She spent most of her adult life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa working at Life Investors, Coe College, and Quaker Oats. She is survived by her children, Timothy McAllister, Kelly Johnson, Denis McAllister (Peggy) and Staci Vileta, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters (including her twin, Mary Berg of Bradenton, FL). She is preceded in death by her spouse of nearly 65 years Joseph Martin McAllister Jr., one grandchild, five brothers and one sister. She will be interred beside her beloved husband at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs Inc (4210 77th St E, Palmetto, FL 34221).
