Elaine Honyak Obituary

NEW BRITAIN

Elaine H. Honyak (ne Pearce), 84, passed away on February 21, 2025, in New Britain, Connecticut. Born on May 21, 1940, in New Britain, Elaine was a graduate of Newington High School. She dedicated her life to creativity and caregiving, leaving behind a legacy of artistry and compassion. An avid crafter and talented artist, she found joy in painting, ceramics, quilting, sewing, and genealogy. Her hands were rarely still, always working on something beautiful that reflected her love for detail and tradition. Elaine was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She is survived by her son Joseph Honyak and his wife Mary of North Windham; her daughter Elizabeth DuPrey and her husband Peter of Windsor Locks; and her cherished grandchildren Brian and Jacob. Her daughter Susan Honyak of Southington also carries forward her memory. She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Winters of Avon and will be deeply missed by her many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jozsef Honyak; her daughter Elaine "Cissy" Honyak; her brother Thomas Pearce; and her parents Albert and Helen Pearce. Elaine will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in New Britain alongside her husband, daughter, and parents. The family will hold a private memorial ceremony later this year to honor her life. May the memory of Elaine's warmth, creativity, and dedication bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
