Dorothy L. Prince-Bodie, age 91, of Bryan and a longtime resident of Edon, passed away early Sunday morning, July 6, 2025, at Hillside Country Living, near Bryan. Dorothy was a homemaker, seamstress and bookkeeper for Prince Logging. She also worked as a salesclerk at JC Penny in Angola. Dorothy volunteered at the Montpelier Senior Center and loved making quilts for her grandchildren. She attended Metz Christian Church.
Born May 13, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa, Dorothy was the daughter of Francis and Lillian (Hartley) Wood.
Dorothy and Noah were blessed with six children, Bill (Mary) Prince, of Edon, Sharon Wilson (Ken Tooman), of Cincinnati, Carol (Bob) Flynn, of Bluffton, Indiana, Lynn Mohre, of Angola, Indiana, Kenneth (Diane) Prince, of Edon, and Judy Olis, of Angola, Indiana; stepson, Jim Prince, of Angola, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Noah Prince and Richard Bodie; brothers, John, Dwayne, Jim and Tom Wood; and sister, Barb Teeters.
Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Krill Funeral Home, 204 W. Indiana St., Edon, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with celebrant Sherrie Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery.
Memorial donations are requested to the Edon Athletic Boosters or the Northwest Township Ladies Auxiliary.
