Of West Seneca, NY. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Koenig) Preston; devoted father of Paul, Jr. (Marguerite) and Christopher (Jennifer) Preston; cherished grandfather of Jason, Jennifer, and Ian; loving brother of the late Jane (late Neal) MacClenathan; also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, a niece and 2 nephews. Friends received on Tuesday, July 15th from 6–8 PM at LAKESIDE MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1340 Union Rd., West Seneca, NY 716-674-5776 where a Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Please share your favorite story, memory of Paul, or view his extended story of his life at www.LakesideFuneralHome.com.

I'm so sad to hear that Paul has left us. My sincere condolences to his family. I had the great privilege and pleasure of knowing Paul as my friend and mentor. I will always be grateful for the many times he invited me to play bass with him. Any gig with Paul was guaranteed to be an education, an inspiration, great music and a whole lot of fun. We have lost a true giant in our music world. Thank you for all that you gave us, Mr. Preston! I will always remember you with love, respect and admiration!

My grandpa was an amazing man. I'll never forget all the jazz concerts we went to, and all the stories you told us from your younger days. We miss you so much it's not the same without you here. Holidays will never be the same without you. I love you and miss you so much. I'm glad your no longer in pain. I wish heaven had a phone so I can call you to make sure your happy and ok and so we can talk anytime.
