Of North Collins, NY at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of Brenda (Loretto) Bauer-Petrus. Loving father of Charles, Robin, Tammy, Robert, Leslie and the late Ron and Karen. Grandfather of Kristina, Robert, Theresa, Corey, Brandon, Charles, Dallas and Sydney. Great-grandfather of Chloe, Matthew and Samantha. Brother of Beverly and the late Edgar, Shirley, Bruce and Barbara. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 11 AM-2 PM at the Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main St. (Rt. 62), North Collins, NY where Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM. Bob was a U.S. Navy Korean Veteran and a thirty-year retiree of General Motors. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Collins American Legion Post 1640.

Bob and I became friends somewhat accidentally. I was having lunch with his father-in-law (Peter Loretto) on a daily basis, and I was friends with his brother-in-law (Peter Loretto Jr) as a fellow volunteer fireman. Bob started to join us for lunch, and we became friends. After both Peter Sr and Peter Jr went to join the Lord, Bob and I kept the tradition going. Daily lunch, reminisce about family, fun, and anything else that came up. Since my retirement, I have missed the regular meetings, but I am happy to have seen Bob a few weeks ago. Bob, save a place for me at your lunch table!

Oh grandpa, I miss you so much already. You are loved beyond words. I’m so glad you got to meet Sammie and get to spend time with her. Until we meet again someday. Love you so much.
