A memorial service in planned for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Jenkins Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St Burnet, Texas.

His parents were Jasper J. Richardson and Mattie F. Richardson. At a young age the family moved to Big Spring, Texas where Jerry attended school and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1957. He then attended junior college in Big Spring.

Jerry married Dianne Childress in 1960. They had 2 children together, Jerry Richardson, Jr. and Dianna Richardson. After junior college the family moved to San Angelo where Jerry received his bachelor's degree in social work. Several years later he received his master's degree in social work from the University of Texas in Austin. He began working for the State of Texas following graduation and retired from the state in 1993. He held many positions within the state. The family moved to El Paso following his graduation and he lived there until 1999.

His main passion was collecting arrowheads and rocks. He loved searching all over the sand dunes outside of El Paso and going to his property in Utah every year to do the same.

In 1999 Jerry married Nancy Head and he moved to Burnet, Texas as she was still working at the time and he was already retired. He lived in Burnet from 1999 until his death.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Nancy Richardson; son, Jerry Richardson, Jr.; daughter, Dianna Richardson; stepdaughter, Lori Head, and stepson, Bryan Head; one grandchild, Arya Bryn Head. He also has one brother, Don Richardson and wife Lynda in Navarre, Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the U.S.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother and dad, and one sister, Nancy Richardson.

Jerry worshiped at Oaks West Church of Christ in Burnet, Texas where he had many Christian friends. His main goal in life was to go to heaven and we believe he is there now.
