Randall Walker Obituary

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Randall "Randy" Arlin Walker Jr., age 61, of LaFayette Georgia, on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Randy, a 1982 LaFayette High School graduate, was a member of the varsity tennis team. He played collegiate tennis while attending Young Harris College before transferring to The University of West Georgia to receive his business degree in 1987. With his entrepreneurial spirit Randy became the owner and operator of his own wholesale distribution company which he successfully operated in the Southeast.

Randy was known for his unwavering love for his family, his kind spirit, his keen business sense and his passion for hunting and fishing. Randy enjoyed life and enjoyed spending his free time outdoors. Randy always placed the needs of others before his own. His kindness and compassion for others is a testimony to the impact and legacy he leaves behind. Randy was never one who liked the spotlight on himself, but his light shone brighter than he will ever know.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Earl Walker and Mamie Houston Walker, and Oliver "Dobbie" Dobson and Georgia Day Dobson.

Randy is survived by his mother, Olivia Gail Walker, father, Randall Arlin Walker Sr., sister, Wimberly "Wendy" Walker Doyle (Kris), son Randall Arlin Walker III "Trace"(Shelby), his wife Emily Elizabeth "Betsy" Clements Walker, his step children, Lindsey Elizabeth Hannah, Abigail Greer Hannah, Christina Grace Hannah Wilson (Coleman), Robert Charles Hannah, Derick Marshal Davenport (Stephanie), Devin Marie Davenport, and nephew Ryan Walker Doyle; and many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 25, at the LaFayette First Baptist Church with his family and Dr. Derrick Fielder officiating.

Interment took place at the LaFayette City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Trace Walker, Rob Hannah, Ryan Doyle, Clint Harrison, Anthony Underwood, James McConnell, and Joel Haynes.

Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Woods, Jeff Crowder, Josh Dobson, Allison Claire, John Roberts, Wade Gilbert, and Freda Hamilton.

A visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 24, at the funeral home. Randy laid in state from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Randy's honor to the memorial account set up at The Bank of LaFayette, PO Box 1149, LaFayette GA 30728 to benefit the Crockford-Pigeon Mountain Wildlife Management Area.

I knew Randy through work, he supplied me with a few products. A customer of mine just told me of his passing. He was a great guy and I always enjoyed our talks. He will be missed! Praying for his family.
