Michael Caivano Obituary

Michael Anthony Caivano, 47, of Hayesville, N.C., passed away peacefully Monday, June 30, 2025, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., following an extended illness.
Born on Feb. 15, 1978, Michael was the beloved son of Diane Westerman Caivano and the late Anthony Vito Caivano Sr.
He was a loving and caring son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Vito Caivano Sr., and his brother, Anthony Vito Caivano Jr.
He was of the Christian faith.
Nothing brought Michael more joy than being surrounded by his family and friends. Whether it was a holiday gathering or a simple quiet visit, he was happiest when sharing stories and laughter with his loved ones. His warm presence made every occasion special.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Diane Caivano of Hayesville; his brother and sisters, Santo and Tracy Caivano of Raleigh, N.C., and Herty Guarin of Murphy, N.C.; as well as many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Michael's memory to either the North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance (ncdsalliance.org) or the CMT Research Foundation (cmtrf.org), two organizations that are deeply focused on enhancing lives of those living with disabilities.
