Kevin Dennis Foy, 77, of Homosassa, passed away on Mon., May 12, 2025, at his home. A native of Queens, New York, he was born April 4, 1948, to the late Edwin and Dorothy (Castine) Foy, and was one of three children.
Kevin served his country honorably and proudly as a United States Marine from January 1968 to June 1970, serving more than eleven months in Vietnam, in combat action.
Kevin moved to Homosassa 38 years ago from Central Islip, L.I., New York, and as a Roman Catholic by faith, was a parishioner of St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto. Kevin was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #155.
He enjoyed a long 20 year career with the Citrus County School Board as a mechanic at the Lecanto Bus Garage. As a lifelong automotive technician, Kevin loved anything involving cars. He loved tinkering and making things work. His perfect day would be spent in his garage. He loved inventing, and fabricating a new tool, gadget or garden device.
Mr. Foy is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Maureen A. Foy, Homosassa, FL; children Kevin Foy, Jr. (wife Melanie), Inverness, FL; Andrew Foy (wife Angel), Salisbury, NC; Nora Nelson (husband Tony), Lewisville, NC and Colleen Foy (husband Marty Hutchens), Pfafftown, NC; grandchildren Delaney, Elkhart, IN; Myles and Lennox, both of Salisbury, NC; Harper and Finnegan, both of Lewisville, NC; Michael and Isaac, both of Pfafftown, NC; brother Edwin Foy (wife June), Surprise, AZ and sister Kathleen Goodwin (husband George), Valley Stream, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 27 at 11 a.m., at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, with Fr. Bill Santhouse, Celebrant. A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will follow at 1 p.m., at Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home, 4890 S. Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa.
