David Swider Obituary

David Charles Swider, 94, of Port Isabel, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
David was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He earned a master's degree in Geography from Wayne University in Detroit, Michigan. Thereafter, he built a career in sales and marketing with companies such as IBM and Honeywell.
David cherished his travels across the United States creating a plethora of experiences and memories none more precious than with his "Sweetheart" and beloved partner, Joyce Deluca. He valued the close friendships, referring to them as "family", that he formed in Port Isabel, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise B. Swider and Charles V. Swider.
Left to cherish his memories are his children from his former marriage to Jeanne Swider: David, Michael, and Paul Swider; daughters-in-law Tina, Gerri, and Lisa; grandchildren Jennifer Danis (Zachary), David Swider, and Erik Swider (Kaitlynn); great-grandson Oslow Danis; Joyce Deluca's sons, Jerry and Barry Kielian; brother Frederick "Fred" Swider; and sister Jeanette Washburn. In accordance with his wishes, no public services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunny Glen Children's Home, 2385 W. Expressway 83, San Benito, TX 78586. Phone: 956-399-5356.
