Keith Houchens Obituary

Keith Eugene Houchens, 64, of Troy, VA, passed away on July 3, 2025. He was born on January 31, 1961, in Charlottesville, VA to Nellie Rhodes Houchens and the late Eugene Randolph Houchens. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Diana Russo Houchens, and her daughter, Amie Boblitz (Mike), and her son, Jason Harlow (Karen Quinn-Harlow), as well as his three siblings: Judy Teates (Billy), Michael Houchens (Ruth), and Paul Houchens. His nieces: Margaret Rudy (Steph), and Kate Brown (Billy), and nephews, Connor and Kyler Rudy. He loved his many friends, especially Timmy and Darlene Hughes. Keith served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his service, he worked for 32 years at UPS in various roles, the last of which was as a feeder driver. After he retired in 2019, he volunteered his time to the community and enjoyed connecting with the people he served. Keith had an incredible sense of humor and never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending his time with friends and family. He loved cooking great food, listening to classic rock, and watching old western movies. He will be deeply missed. To celebrate his life, a visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hill & Wood Funeral Service in Charlottesville. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Monticello Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Keith's honor may be made to either Meals on Wheels (cvillemeals.org) or the World Central Kitchen (wck.org).
