I was shocked to hear of Clark's passing. Dekalb and the World have lost a wonderful man who was the epitome of kindness and thoughtfulness.
Clark was always gracious and helpful to me (and everyone else). Every interaction I had with Clark was positive--he was that kind of a guy. One memory I can share is that once Clark, Dwight King, and Cathy King, all did a triathlon we created including a biking, running, and swimming at the local pool! Another story I remember about Dwight is that at his funeral, he would like to have noted that he once won a dancing contest! I regret I cannot make his funeral but he will continue to bring happy thoughts to my memory.

It's been years since we've bumped in to the Nehers. Guess that's why we didn't know of Arlene's passing some time ago.
Clark & Arlene were such loving souls. It was an honor to know them. Their sincere love of people always turned a chance encounter into a warm hug, that stayed with you. The memories make me smile. The world was blessed to have them. Condolences to the family.

Dr Neher was my favorite professor at NIU. He instilled in me a love of travel. He was always gracious with his time and thoughts...I just found one of his books as I was cleaning out some boxes to then only learn of his passing... his impact on Dekalb community and 1000's of students he mentored can not be underestimated.

As Head of the NIU Libraries' Government Publications Department, I worked with the Political Science Department faculty and political science students. It was such a wonderful experience to have discussions with Dr. Neher Not only was he a very knowledgeable teacher but he showed so much passion when it came to his teaching and working with his students. Thank you, Dr. Nehr

I never had the privilege of knowing Dr. Neher, but felt compelled to tell his surviving family that we, as a community he chose to adopt, you were a blessing to us with all you have given just here in DeKalb! What an interesting & certainly fulfilled life. Fly high, sir!

Clark was undoubtedly one of the greatest people in my life, and always valued his company and insights since first attending several of his classes in late 60's/early 70's. He always challenged people to think for themselves, value diversity and enjoy life. He inspired me to purse career in public administration which I completed at NIU. Clark inspired me to do my best and serve my community.

I had him as a teacher at NIU twice. He was passionate about teaching. I enjoyed learning from him, more than what was in the books.
