Robert Eugene Johnson, age 82 of Hinckley, IL passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL. He was born on April 22, 1942 in Joliet, IL the son of Ervin and Dorothy (Henry) Johnson.
Robert was united in marriage on November 5, 1970 to Sandra Lakeman and they spent the next 54 years happily together. Mr. Johnson was a proud United States Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was employed, until his retirement, with Lucent Technologies. Bob enjoyed many things in life, including golfing, eagle watching, fishing, traveling with family and friends, and was a Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, also an avid photographer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra Johnson of Hinckley, IL; his children, Dawn (David) Hoover of the Villages, FL, Michelle (Brian) Butler of Somonauk, IL and Eric (Victoria Fessler) Johnson of Hinckley, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew Jordan, Tony Kulisek, Nick Kulisek, Kylie Butler, and Kendall Butler; his great-grandson, Tanner Jordan; his mother, Dorothy Johnson of Lisbon Center, IL; his brother, Gerald (Diane) Johnson of Yorkville, IL; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Johnson and his son, Timothy Andrew Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 12760 Lee Road, Hinckley, IL. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street, Hinckley, IL.
