Carin Sargent

Carin Sue Sargent, 75, of Williston, VT, passed away on May 3rd, 2025, after a brief illness. Carin was born on July 27, 1949, in Geneva, Illinois. Carin attended the University of Florida where she studied art, and later attended Florida State where she received a Master of Library Science degree. Carin spent her career as a librarian, working at some of the largest library systems in the country. She was an avid reader and loved her work and volunteered at various libraries after she retired.

Carin loved playing games (and having "tea time" with her friends) as well as engaging with her book club. She was artistic and constantly creating beautiful needlepoint creations. She was an adventurer, having traveled throughout her life, from South America to New Zealand. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandson, Tommy.

Carin was unabashedly herself. She was kind and thoughtful, always asking after others. She told bad jokes but laughed at the good ones. She delighted in the small things, often smiling, clasping her hands and exclaiming "Oh how wonderful!" Carin was loved by more than she ever realized and will be greatly missed.

Carin is survived by her daughter, Beth O'Grady (husband, Tom O'Grady), son Ryan Stefl (wife Erin Foley Stefl), and her grandchildren Tommy, Rebecca, Emma, and Allie. She is predeceased by her parents, Carl and Luella, and her brothers, Bruce and Craig.
