Aaron William Moon's earthly journey began on April 29, 1952, in Talladega County, Alabama. He was the beloved son of the late William Miles Moon and Alberta Taylor Moon. On July 7, 2025, under the compassionate care of Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, Aaron peacefully departed this walk of life. Aaron was a proud graduate of East Highland High School, Class of 1970. From a young age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Early Rose Baptist Church. And later became a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Sylacauga, where he faithfully served in the choir. Later in life, he united with Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, continuing his spiritual journey with devotion and grace. A man of many talents and deep compassion, Aaron served his country honorably in the United States Army, enlisting in 1971 and receiving the National Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged on May 10, 1974. Following his military service, he began his career with Dixie Color as a Maintenance Mechanic, dedicating over six years to the company. His entrepreneurial spirit led him into the world of home repair, where he became widely known and respected for his skill, reliability, and generosity. He also had a true passion for grilling, often bringing joy to those around him with food, fellowship, and laughter. He had a passion for singing and song in a couple of groups called Straight Up and Soulful Expression. Aaron was a devoted father and an even more remarkable grandfather. His love and wisdom were felt by all who knew him. His life was filled with service to his family, to his community, and to his country. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dwight Cornelius Moon; and his grandson, Khireese Walls. His legacy of love and strength will forever be cherished by his children: sons, Steven Averitte, Demetrius Griffin, and Dorieon Moon, all of Sylacauga, AL; daughters, Alicia Walls of Sylacauga, AL, and La'Wanda Moon Parker (Darius) of Pinson, AL.
