Dear Holly and Family. I am so sorry for your loss. I well remember Peter joining Linklaters as an important addition in the early stages of developing our US Securities practice. When I became managing partner of the firm in 1998 he was always friendly, positive and constructive in our discussions on how best to develop the practice, and did a great job not only of fitting into our fast internationalising firm but helping us to understand
US legal practices. Friendly
and warm I have only good
memories of him. May the many happy memories you have of Peter comfort you now and into the future.

I worked a lot with Peter in the late 90s , the birth of Linklaters US practice in Asia. He was a pleasure to work with and to enjoy a quiet drink after work.. in Singapore he would retire from the bar having many calls to make to the US. I recall one meeting with a US associate candidate at the Shangrila poolside bar. The plan was to hire him in Asia, but he told us... no he wanted to go to
London... Peter did not miss a beat but carried on selling our London offering
As the photo shows, he always had bigger fish to fry! RIP Tony

A great guy, an enthusiastic optimist, whom I knew from his time in Hong Kong when I was in Linklaters Bangkok - we will remember him.

Holly and Family: When I joined Linklaters as a summer associate in 2006, Peter was my partner mentor and immediately made me feel welcomed -- in particular, I have a fantastic memory of him organizing for us a helicopter ride around New York Harbor / over Yankee stadium; to this day the only time I've ever been in a helicopter! His warmth as a person was immediate, and I know his memory will be a source of strength for his family and loved ones.

Dear Holly. I am deeply saddened to hear of Peter's illness and passing. We were colleagues right through his years at Linklaters and he made an important contribution to the Brazil and Latam practices after his return from Hong Kong. I remember well that smile, enthusiasm and genuine warmth that are evident in the picture you have shared in his memory. I hope that you and the rest of the family, of whom Peter always spoke so proudly, will be comforted in your loss by so many wonderful memories of your lives together. You are in my prayers. David

So sorry to hear such sad news. I only have fond memories of Peter and his time at Linklaters. Having been there with him in New York from his first day in the firm (and even before he joined) he was always great fun to be with. He was one of the founding partners of the US practice and a whole generation of lawyers at Linklaters owe him a huge debt of gratitude for what he helped to create.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

We are so saddened to hear about the loss of Peter and our hearts go out to Holly and the family. Peter was truly a one of a kind person, gracing all who had a chance to know him with his engaging energy and infectious positive outlook.
I first met Peter when we were in our late 20s-then starting our respective "big law firm" careers at Milbank Tweed in New York in the late `80s. It was also the time when Peter first met his lovely bride to be Holly and I was also dating my bride to be Shelly. At our wedding, Peter read that infamous passage from Corinthians 13:4 . Shelly and I also fondly remember, a few years later meeting up with Pete and Holly when we were expats overseas-Pete and Holly in Hong Kong and us in Moscow.
Peter left an indelable mark on us and we will always cherish the fond memories from that time in our lives.
May he rest in peace.

Oh this news breaks my heart. The Ruhlin family were the dearest of friends at 3 Nolen to the Luther family at 1 Nolen lane most particularly to my father, Kerry. They welcomed him into their family and enriched his life beautifully until his passing in 2011. Who can ever forget the poolside get together at the Ruhlins with the new owners of 1 Nolen lane a few months after we sold dad's house. There were about 10 of us and it was one hell of a great evening. I will treasure my memories of Peter. My love and deepest sympathy to his family.
