Maggie Jones Obituary

Maggie Elizabeth Garner Jones, 86, transitioned from this life March 21, 2025 in New Albany, MS. She was born October 10, 1938 in Union County, MS to Earl and Bertha Foster Garner. She was a graduate of Old Salem High School in Ashland, MS. On September 12, 1959, she was united in holy matrimony to Prentis Jones. They were blessed with three children. Prentis and their son, James preceded her in death.

She was employed by Futorian for 28 years and the Union County Headstart Program for 23 years. Maggie was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, the Heroines of Jericho Court #5, Union County Zesty Zeniors and the Sisters Network of Tupelo, MS.

Cherished memories are left with her children Sylvia (Andrew) Jones and Stephen Jones both of New Albany, MS, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friday, March 28, 4-6 p.m. Serenity Funeral Home, New Albany, MS. Funeral Services Saturday, March 29, 1:00 p.m. New Birth Community Church, Glade Avenue, New Albany, MS. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services.
