Eugene Hively Obituary

Eugene "Gene" Lyle Hively, 72, of Otsego, MN passed away on August 12 after a brief, yet difficult battle with cancer. Gene was born on February 27, 1953 in Tracy, MN.

Gene was the beloved husband of Denise Hively of Otsego, MN and the cherished father of Adam Hively of Otsego, MN and Jennifer (Aaron) Cordes of Bloomington, MN. He will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his commitment to his family, and his kind and caring personality.

Gene grew up in western Minnesota and attended Willmar High School. He was a veteran of the US Army, primarily stationed in Alaska, and was a lifelong truck driver. Gene loved all things John Deere and recently developed a local reputation as the Lawn Mower Guy, repairing and selling lawn mowers (and snowblowers) at cheap prices for the people of his community.

Please join us to celebrate Gene's life. A visitation will be held at Dare's Funeral Home in Elk River from 5-8 PM on August 25, 2025. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on August 26, 2025 at Christ Church in Otsego, with visitation starting at 10 AM.
