Louise Hartzel Obituary

Celebrating the Life of Louise N. Hartzel
August 16, 1947 – June 16, 2025

Louise N. Hartzel, 77, of Highlands Ranch, CO, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2025. Born August 16, 1947, in Turrell, Arkansas to Molly Grebenc White and G.R. White, she was raised in Ely, Minnesota, where she married Gerald W. Hartzel on April 19, 1969. They shared 55 devoted years together.

Louise built a fulfilling career in real estate and spent a decade working at a law firm. Her adventurous spirit took her and Gerry across the globe-from Olympic events to Hawaiian cruises and European travels. At home, she found great joy in arts & crafts, tending to her garden filled with peonies and Coleus, and making Christmas truly magical with her dazzling decorations and warmth.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gerald (2024), her parents, her sister Mary and brother-in-law Donald Gresly, and her brothers George and Johnny.

She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Montelli (Highlands Ranch, CO), Sheri Zmolek (Littleton, CO), and Andrea Quick (Escondido, CA); six grandchildren: Ben, Derek, Henri, Delaney, Campbell, and Carter; sisters Gail Keuhn and Cora (Alan) Young of St. Paul; brother Gary (Danielle) White of Babbitt, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Louise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed. A family memorial service was held on July 28, 2025, in Centennial, CO.
