Betty Blasing Obituary

Mapleton - BETTY L. BLASING, age 91 of Mapleton, formerly of Janesville, died on the morning of July 1, 2025 at the Beacon in Mapleton.

Betty was born on December 16, 1933 to William & Agnus (Lutz) Stoldt in McPherson township, Blue Earth County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Evangelical Church in Alma City and later graduated from Pemberton High School with the class of 1951. After graduation she worked as a waitress at Ellis Log Cabin, Village Diner, Heritage House and the Janesville American Legion.

On June 30, 1980 Betty was united in marriage to Willard Blasing. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.

Betty is survived by a nephew, Albert & Mary (Vogelpohl) Rosin of Raymond, three step-children, Scott Blasing of Cedar Hill, TX, Bruce of Waterville and Elizabeth of Janesville and several great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willard; a sister, Shirley Rosin; a brother, Arthur Stoldt; and her fiancé, Ray Barta.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service, and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Rev. Jason Wolter officiating. Interment will follow at the Alma City Cemetery. dsofuneral.com
