We graduated from Southwestern High School in 1967. I knew Don as one of the good guys. Over the years I continued to hear his name and it always brought a smile to my face. Rest In Peace Don. May your family be comforted by their faith.

Praying for Pat and Jerry Ginger and Don´s family during this week especially. I met Don at Glen Ginger´s funeral where he and I both spoke a few years ago. I was impressed with his warm heart and love for Glen. I felt as if I had known Don for many years as we met and talked at the funeral.

Dan was always a respectful kind and caring guy. Always willing to give a helping hand.
I enjoyed working with him at the courthouse as well as singing next to him in the choir. May he rest in peace, and my deepest condolences to his family
Sincerely, Nancy Wartella

I met Don through his wonderful sister, Pat, my good friend and neighbor of many years. I learned of his accomplishments from Pat and enjoyed my encounters with Don and Diane. I know he will be so missed by many. Best regards to all family and friends.

I remember the early days on Zimmerman & Reid Street & so does my brother Bob. At that time the new Southwestern High School & old Zimmerman School. Oh! Such fun in the old neighborhood.

My sincere condolences to Don's wife, family, and friends. He will be sorely missed at Kettering. Running into Don on campus always lifted my spirits. He certainly emanated a positive light and energy; always impeccably dressed and groomed, with that warm smile on his face. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Some people just naturally make that kind of impression on others, and Don was one of them. I am honored to have known him.

I first met Don while working at his father´s drugstore on S. Saginaw St., Rockwell Drugs. I have 3 sisters and all 4 of us worked at the drugstore when we were in HS. It was a family business and Don would often put in a few hours there too on the weekends or after school. I enjoyed talking with him while I made malts and soda´s behind the counter! He was a wonderful young man with such a big heart and a great sense of humor. He remained a friend of our family and was always so kind and considerate when we saw him. He was a true gentleman filled with humility and kindness. My husband had the pleasure of meeting him and his whole family when they came to him to get their eyes examined. We will miss Don deeply and we are very saddened to hear this unexpected news. Our hearts and prayers go out to Diane and his children.
