Marie Combs Obituary

Marie was born on July 15, 1936 in Geneva, N.Y. and was a daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (Morabito) Giardino. She retired from JC Penney's as a catalog Manager. Marie loved to cook and entertain always hosting holiday dinners. Marie was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother, her family was her world.
She is survived by her children Mary (Thomas) Gifkins, Michael (Brenda Moskal) Combs, JoAnn (Robert) Greco, Deborah (Joseph) Ralston and David Combs; grandchildren Danielle (Christopher) Dutcher, Shannon (Michael) Fults, Robert Greco, Jr., Samuel Barrett, Alexis Teed, Angela (Benjamin) Eklund and Kaitlyn Combs; great grandchildren Quinn, Delaney, Taryn, Michael, Colin, Ardyn and Layla; brothers Anthony Giardino and Dominic (Donna) Giardino; sister-in-law Anna Marie Giardino.
Marie is predeceased by her husband Arden Combs; sister Kay Aponte; brothers Patsy, Frank, and Fr. Andrew (Uncle Joe) Giardino; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rose Marie and Patricia Giardino, Olive (Merritt) Lovelette and Shirley (Norman) Wallace.
The family would like to thank her home health aides, who also became her friends, for the love and care they gave her.

I worked with Marie at JC Penny in Geneva. She was always a professional in the catalog department. She taught me some of the secrets of getting along with the manager when I started .

My heart is with you during this difficult time. Your mom was truly one of a kind-warm, generous, and full of love. Growing up, your home was like a second home to me. It was always filled with energy-loud laughter echoing through the rooms, your siblings coming and going, the chatter of the police monitor humming in the background, and your dad cracking jokes that had everyone in stitches - and me peeing my pants!!!
I´ll never forget the countless nights we spent in your living room doing homework, surrounded by the smells of food that seemed to appear magically-because in your home, like mine, food was love. And your mom loved big. She welcomed me with open arms - since the 3rd grade - and made me feel like part of the family, something I´ll carry with me always.
Please know how deeply I care and how grateful I am for all the memories your family gave me. Anthony and I are sending you all our love and holding you in our hearts.
