Shirley Gray Obituary
Shirley was born on June 4, 1938 in Perkinsville, N.Y. to the late Arthur & Emma (Wenz) Conrad. Born and raised in Perkinsville, N.Y., Shirley graduated from Wayland Central School. She married and moved to Waterloo in 1956 and had 3 children, Gary, Mark and Donna. She worked in various positions throughout the years doing things she loved – working in fabrics at Beryl's Fabrics, childcare, and prior to retiring, home health care of seniors.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is predeceased by sons, Gary (Donna) and Mark; granddaughter, Michelle Gray; husband, Carl Gray; and significant other, Glenn Harloff. She is also predeceased by brothers, Arthur Conrad Jr. (Rosie), Clark Conrad (Harriet), Richard Conrad (Lorraine); and sister Theda (Alvie) Mehlenbacher.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Donna (Greg) Loeb of Geneva; two grandsons, Jesse (Laura) Gray and Mark Gray II; a granddaughter, Lydia Roe; two great grandchildren (Bradley & Ryan Gray); two step-grandchildren (Brenna & Forrest); two sisters, Jane Congdon & Irma (Len) Wheeler; 3 brothers Dewey Conrad, Robert (Sue) Conrad and Ted (Betty) Conrad and many, many nieces & nephews.
Friends & family may call from 2 p.m. -4 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples Street, Wayland where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Reverend Colin Pritchard will preside. Burial will take place in the spring at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Perkinsville at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Road, Waterloo, N.Y. 13165.
