Jane Lee Obituary

Jane Lee, age 91, passed away peacefully at the Reserve at Towne Lake in Woodstock, GA. Born on September 25, 1933, in Iron City, GA, she was the beloved daughter of Denver and Vada Spooner. Jane was one of six children and is survived by her sister, Nan Floyd of Columbus, GA.

Jane graduated from Seminole County High School and pursued higher education at ABAC College in Tifton and Georgia College for Women in Milledgeville, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. She dedicated 39 years to teaching, with her career spanning several schools in Terrell and Forsyth counties, including Dawson Elementary, Terrell Academy, Lily Cooper Elementary, and Otwell Middle School.

A committed member of Georgia Educators, Jane was also an active participant in her church communities. She was a devoted member of the First Redeemer Baptist Church, where she was an integral part of the Upper Class Sunday School class for many years. Additionally, she was a member of Dawson First Baptist Church in Dawson, GA, and served in the Gideon's Auxiliary.

Jane was married to her beloved husband Dr. Charles Lee for 55 years. She is survived by her loving children, Pam Lee, Chuck Lee and his wife Coyann, and Edward Lee and his wife Dawn. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jane's legacy of dedication to education and her unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless students whose lives she touched.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday February 4th at Sawnee View Cemetery to celebrate Jane's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons International in her memory.
