Edgar Kline Obituary

Edgar Lee Kline, Sr., (84), of Myersville, MD, passed away, June 30, 2025, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with familial amyloidosis and Alzheimer's.

Born on March 29, 1941, in Myersville, MD, he was the son of the late Woodrow and May (Pryor) Kline.

Edgar was a 1959 graduate of Middletown High School and member of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren. Edgar was an Army Veteran serving in France and Germany. He worked on the family farm growing up and became a tool grinder/machinist at Landis Tool Company while working on cars in evening with his brother and painting houses on the weekends. Edgar never forgot to tuck his children in and kiss them goodnight. He was a member of the American Legion Post 211. Edgar was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather aka "Pappy Cooties", and great-grandfather. He enjoyed NASCAR (has a racing trophy of his own from the local track), hunting, fishing, scooter rides, and caring for his property.

Edgar is survived by his loving children, Edgar Lee Kline, Jr. (wife, Kim), Linda Mae Kline, and Christine Elizabeth Hahn (husband, Joshua); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Meghan Mixter and Bryan Tingle, Kearan Z., Rhylan F., Declan A., and Emersyn K. Tingle, Katelynn and William Arthur Gorsuch, III, Kirsten Harmon, Brandon Caudill and Timothy Caudill, Donald L. Harmon, III and Joshua D. Hahn, Jr.; and numerous beloved granddogs and grandcats; siblings, Ronald (Carol) Kline, Marvin (Kaye) Kline, Patsy (Kenny) Miller, Joyce (Jeff) Forsyth; and sisters-in-law, Sandy Kline and Jorja Kline; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Pauline Kline; brothers and sisters, Woodrow (Delores) Kline, Franklin (Delores) Kline, Maurice "Bubby" Kline, Nancy Kline, Baby Girl Kline, Gary Kline, and Hubert Kline.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Meeting House Road. in Myersville, Maryland. A celebration of Edgar's life journey will begin at 11 am with Rev. Karen Grossnickle officiating. Burial will be at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Myersville. You are invited to join the family for food and fellowship immediately following the burial back at the church.
