Peter Adams

Peter Adams, 90, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Peter grew up in Wellesley, Mass., where he developed a lifelong love of sports, mainly his beloved Boston Red Sox. He attended Rollins College in Florida, earning a degree in theater before beginning a successful career in finance. Peter worked at the Bank of Boston for 35 years before retiring. His quick wit and sense of humor were always evident to all who met and loved him.

Throughout his life, Peter was deeply committed to community service. He was a longtime member, and a past president, of the Exchange Club of Needham, served on the board of directors for the Charles River ARC from 1998 to 2006, and was a member of the Town of Needham Finance Committee. In retirement, Peter remained active as president of the Lee's Hill 55 Club.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Adams; children, Peter John (Elsa) and Matthew (Mireya); grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Tristan, and Callie; sister, Ann Harley; nephews, Forrest and Mark; niece, Theresa; and many sisters/brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews by marriage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Ann; and brother, Forrest.

A service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.
