Kim Denise Coryell Baethge ended her fierce battle with cancer on July 13, 2025, at the age of 68 years.
Kim battled the cancer since it was diagnosed in April of 2024 with dignity. She never complained, always willing to make the trips to chemo even though she knew that it would probably make her ill for several days. She is undoubtedly happy knowing that the cancer that took her physical life could not dim her spirituality or take her eternal life with her Lord.
Kim was a proud educator in the Texas Public School System for 31 years, former director of the CCD program at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, former parish festival director, proud member of St. Mary's ACTS community, a member of the Gillespie County Retired Teachers Association, former Stonewall 4-H leader, and member of St. Rose Society and Stonewall Chamber of Commerce. Kim was also a dedicated employee at Gold Orchards in Stonewall for many years. Even with all of these titles, the title she valued most was that of "Mamaw", which she proudly carried for one year and one day here on earth.
Kim was born on April 18, 1957, in San Diego, California, the daughter of Don Roger Coryell and Johnnie Mae Akin Coryell. Kim moved to Eagle Pass, Texas, when her mother remarried John Hardt Sr.
Kim married Stephen Wayne Baethge on March 9, 1991, in Austin, Texas.
Kim is survived by her husband of 34 years, Stephen; a daughter, Emily Mae Nelson and husband Jim of Corpus Christi, and a son, Kim Ross Baethge of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by the joy of her life, her grandson, Calvin Wade Nelson.
Kim is also survived by her sister & spouse, Johnnie Lee Hardt Gonzales & Salvador, and 4 brothers & spouses, Robert & Lupe Hardt, John Harry Jr. & Diana Hardt, Timothy & Graciella Hardt, and Thomas & Tammy Hardt.
In addition, Kim is survived by brothers in-law & spouses, Kenneth & Denise Baethge and Dennis & Debbie Baethge, and sister-in-law & spouse Janice & Garrett Durst, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great- nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Kim was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Alice Hardt Powell; father- & mother-in-law, Marion & Emily Crenwelge Baethge, and brother-in-law, Gregory Lynn Baethge.
