A. Claire Ruby, age 90, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1934, passed away on March 7, 2006. Claire was born on December 14, 1915 in North Platte, NB, the daughter of the late Spencer W. and Alice C. Linstrom Edmisten. She was a member of Pikes Peak United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school at the church for over 50 years. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star, Glen Eyrie Chapter, in Colorado Springs. She loved to sew and break mules and horses. She remodeled houses on the west side of Colorado Springs in partnership with her husband Arthur. Claire is survived by a daughter; Janie (Douglas Wolfe) Knickerbocker of Colorado Springs, two grandchildren: Patricia Powell of Colorado Springs, Jonathan Tooley of Ellicott, two great grandchildren: Hannah Tooley and Adelyn Powell. She was also preceded in death by her husband; Arthur Thompson Ruby on January 21, 1997, a daughter; Patricia K. Bowden, sister; Fern Cary, brother; Dale Edmisten and a grandson; Aaron Tooley. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Blunt Mortuary 2229 W. Colorado Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2006 at Pikes Peak United Methodist Church 2927 W. Pikes Peak Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Pikes Peak United Methodist Church.
