Adam Alvidrez Obituary

Adam Alvidrez Jr. passed away on August 26, 2014 at Golden Living Center Hillcrest in Fresno, California. He was born on July 19, 1948 in San Jose, California to his parents Adam and Barbara Alvidrez. Adam grew up in San Jose and then moved to Tulare, California where he graduated from Tulare Western High School in 1966. After high school, Adam worked with his father in the hay business until he joined the Army on January 27, 1969. He served his country in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharp Shooter/Rifle. Adam was honorably discharged on January 1, 1975. He then worked for a number of years at Ford Motor Company. Eventually Adam started working in the jewelry business as Freedom Jewelry and then started his own company, Crowfeather Jewelry, which he did until his retirement. Adam is survived by his sons, Patrick Alvidrez and his girlfriend Erika Obermaier and Daniel Alvidrez and his ex-wife Maggie Alvidrez; his mother and step-father Barbara and John Dailey; sisters, Eva Bruce and Linda McCollum and husband Larry McCollum; brothers, Jerry Alvidrez and wife Kimberly and Michael Alvidrez; his longtime friend Kathy Anderson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Adam Alvidrez Sr. and his brother John Alvidrez. Visitation will be 12-8 pm, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel. Rosary and Mass will be at 10 am, Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 S. O St., Tulare. Burial will be private. Immediately following the funeral, there will be a luncheon served at St. Rita's Hall next to the church.
