Dear Adam,
I just want to say that you will NEVER be forgotten. Your legacy lives on in your son (my amazing Grandson) Carson. :)

He is such a blessing and a joy, as well as a constant reminder of you! At just 10 years old, he already has your charming personality, and your smile (including the smirk). :) He is clever and wise beyond his years, just like I remember you being, and I swear each time I talk to him, even his voice reminds me of yours.

Even though I still miss you every day, and I have sadness in my heart for your loss and the fact that you were taken from us far too soon...Your incredible son Carson helps to ease the sadness and reminds those of us who choose to be around him, and be a part of his life, that he truly is the best part of you!

As Carson's very proud grandmother, I just want to say thank you again, so much, for blessing us with the beautiful gift of your son. He is a shining example of your memory; your "mini-me"!

Much Love, respect, and gratitude always,
Love your mother-in-law,

In his teenage years, Adam loved to rock climb in Garden of the God's Nature park in Colorado Springs, CO., when our family was stationed at Ft. Carson. Adam saw Colorado as his home and as we remember him in the month of May-for Memorial Day and for his ultimate sacrifice, we share this poem that he wrote during his young life with all of those who knew and loved him.

The Ascent

I see red sandstone surrounded by fearful friends, weighted down by their own gear. I see blue skies and a vertical limit. All fear has been expelled. All problems have been repelled. Nothing but adrenalin remains. Finally peace.

Your Dad and I remember you today on your 30th birthday. This week we added something to the sextant that you gave your Dad as a Christmas gift in December of 2006 at Fort Campbell. A brass plate has been added with the following sayings on courage and faith.

"Success is not measured by what a man accomplishes, but the opposition he has encountered, and the courage with which he maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds.

Dear Adam,
I'm thinking of you on this Veteran's Day, as always.

I only had the special privilage of knowing you for about the last 6 years of your life, but you were such an amazing young man, and you will remain in my thoughts & in my heart forever. I miss you every day.

Thank you so much for giving us your incredible son, my adorable Grandson, Carson. He is such a charmer, and so wise beyond his years. He has a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh, and he's so compationate and loving, that I swear he is a "mini-me" of you! :) It saddens me that you didn't get to stay with us on earth to watch him grow...but I know you are watching over him from heaven, and it's obvious that your spirit is always with him. I know you are so proud of your little man.

Your memory lives on through him, and in the hearts of those of us who love & miss you. We will continue to remind Carson what a wonderful father he had.

With love and admiration,

Dear Adam,
As parents, our job was to love and guide you and set you on the right path. The rest of your journey was your's to create in making a life for yourself and your family and you did what was right. On the way, service to our country called and you answered that call. Today, we remember you; your focus, perseverance, committment and courage. It is not the number of years that one lives that matter as much as the quality of those years lived with passion, here on this earth.

For all our troops across the country, we honor you today and always. There is a debt we can never repay, so we say, THANK YOU and God Bless All Of You.

Dearest Adam,
As your father and I honor and remember this morning, all those who were tragically taken from their families on the morning of September 11, 2001,we think of you. That morning, ten years ago was a defining moment for you. You were entering your senior year of high school. I remember when we stood in the hallway of our home and I asked you what plans you had for college and you said to me. "Mom, I've been sitting in a classroom for almost twelve years. I want to see what I can do with my life." Looking back, your father and I realize that the silences in between what you said and the look of determination in your eyes spoke volumes. By stepping forward with courage to serve our country in it's time of need, you chose to give unselfishly to a cause greater than yourself. We love you and miss you, Adam and you will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

Someday, may we be able to share your history and legacy with your son, our sweet grandson, Carson Alexander Wilkinson.

Dear Adam,
As time passes our pain lessens and we continue to remember. Your father and I know that you were loaned to us-a gift from God. We know that as we go through our days on this earth, we are given the opportunity to share joy, laughter and most of all love. When we are tested in this life, our joy can turn to sorrow and tears can replace our smiles. But we have made a choice. We choose to continue to hold the memory of you close in our hearts. For all that you were in this life and for all that you mean to us we remember God's promise. "God doesn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow or sun without rain, but God does promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and a light for the way, and for all who believe in His kingdom above, He answers our faith with everlastingly love." We know that you will always be with us.

Your absence is deeply felt every day but we will always remember this. To Our Dearest son, Adam,
Sometimes our hearts are so full that our own words are simply not enough to convey how we feel. Your father and I share this poem with you knowing that you are in God's presence and that you will always feel our love.
"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understandig with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same."
On this special day and every day, your father and I think of you and remember you with love. We are blessed to have had you in our lives for twenty-three wonderful years. We honor you and pay tribute to a life well lived and your selfless service to our country.
To your son, our sweet grandson, Carson, as he approaches his fifth birthday, we wish him a wealth of happiness and may he be surrounded by and feel your love and ours through the spirit of God's love. As he grows into a man in his own right, may he come to know and be proud of your life history and a legacy that one day he can call his own.

Son,Father,Husband,Nephew,Warrior,Hero.
These were the many roles my nephew Adam held in his years with family, friends and the 160th.
As we continue to remember him,we keep alive all of those roles he played in our lives.
For one so young, he lived every role with energy, compassion, honor and love.
A legacy that continues in his beautiful son Carson.
Adam believed in what he was doing when he sacrificed his life for his country and us.
We can now add another role to his many
titles: inspiration.

I only recently heard your sad news. I am sitting here trying to find the perfect words to express my feelings and saddness over your loss but all I am able to come up with is "I'm SO very Sorry".
Felicia, you were such a sweet friend to me while were were stationed at Ft. Carson, I hate to think that you and your husband are having to deal with such a tragic loss.
I send you well wishes and the knowledge that your Adam, will forever be honored as a true American Hero. We are all in debt to him and your family.

Love,
MAJ Dan, Brenda Kuntz and family

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Direct our efforts also on behalf of our children entrusted to our care; may we be enabled to provide for them, not material blssings alone, but moral and spritual security as well. Keep our spirits courageous and our outlook hopeful as we humbily put our trust in Thee. Amen

It is with deep sadness that I am forced to honor the memory of another fallen Warrior. I ask the family and friends of Sgt. Adam Wilkinson to accept the offer of my most sincere and heart felt condolences. I hope that you know that your loss is shared by a grateful America. Most of whom you have not met and in all probability will never meet. Our nation sincerely appreciates the sacrifices of your patriot.

Freedom is not free; it is paid for by our heroes!

I know the pain parents feel when they loose a child. I lost a son 19 years ago. It is a pain that defies description. It is a pain that never goes away. It is a pain that will never end. It is a pain that is all consuming. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

May God Bless and keep you today, tomorrow and forever!

Rest in Peace Brave Warrior; you did your duty with great honor, dedication and in the Highest Airborne Tradition.
