Bert you were a very special to me. I am glad I had a chance to say good bye before you left on your journey to be with the Lord. I’ll miss you. However, it just seems like yesterday that I was attending the University of Colorado, and yes as a student “broke as hell” I remember that you were always there for me with a helping hand, cash and encouragement. I will never forget you or your laugh. You made me laugh so many times. Still, there is a song that will always remind me of you- “Streets of Bakersfield” by Dwight Yoakum – I heard it one day in 1988 while in a music store in Tucson, Az. Of course I had to buy it. I listen to it every now and then- I smile and laugh to myself as think about you. Thank you for your love and support- may the Lord Jesus save a special place for you in His heart. Always with love your cousin ….Silver “Steve” Velasquez.
