Albert Turnell Obituary

Albert F. Turnell, 81, passed away on July 15 at his home with his wife, Karen; his son, Robert; and granddaughter, Katherine, by his side. Albert, a career Army man, retired as an SGM after 30 years of service. His career included tours to Japan, Korea, Vietnam, UCLA, where he taught ROTC, and Germany. It was in Germany that he met and married the love of his life, Karen. Al is survived by his wife, Karen; three children: Robert (Julie), Kenneth, and Linda Albrecht (Russ); six grandchildren: Kyle, Keri, Katherine, Austin, Amorette, and Arabelle; and one great-grandchild, Otto. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry in Nov. 2006 and by his brother, Ernie on July 14, 2013. Graveside services: Aug. 2 at 11:30 am, Staging Area B, Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. A get together to celebrate his life will be on following day, Saturday, August 3 from 2:00-5:00 at 780 Mission Hill Way. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice in his name.

Big Al - It was nice to spend time with Al and Karen over the years. Al so enjoyed his family on this side of the world. He was loved by his wider family in NZ. He is missed but not forgotten. Rest well Al.
