Albert Wisely Obituary

March 5, 1946-January 25, 2009 Albert (Sam) Alden Wisely, 62, passed away quietly at home while battling pan-creatic cancer, surrounded by his loving family, in Colorado Springs. Sam was born in Cairo, Illinois, and is survived by his wife Carol, whom he married on June 11, 1967; two sons, Jeff (Sara) Wisely and Todd Wisely; his mother, Mary Baker Wisely, and his sister, Sandra (Jim) Green. He was preceded in death by his father, Alden. Sam graduated with a Master's of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Administration from Southern Illinois University, after four years of service with the United States Air Force. Most of his professional career was spent as a Defense Contract Administrator in St. Louis and Colorado Springs. Sam had a lifetime devotion to hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, and gardening. He shared this love with many family and friends at every opportunity. He also was an avid collector of antiquities and collectibles. A memorial service will be held at Vista Grande Community Church- United Church of Christ, 5460 North Union Blvd., Colorado Springs, Co., 80918 on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, donations be given to Vista Grande Community Church to be used for those in need.
