Alice Bresser Obituary

Alice Margaret Bresser passed away on February 18th, 2006 at her home in Colorado Springs, at the age of 95. Alice was born on December 24, 1910 in El Paso County, near Peyton, Colorado, the daughter of David and Margaret Devin and was part of the third generation of original homesteaders. Alice graduated from Ellicott High School in 1927 and married Herman Bresser, her husband of 51 years, in 1929. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Bresser, sister, Helen Hogle, brother, John Devin and granddaughter, Susan Brownewell. She is survived by her children: Beverly Schubert of Ellicott, Colorado, Henry Bresser and Donna Jo Baker both of Colorado Springs, 11 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, and 17 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alice and Herman farmed and ranched in Peyton, CO until Herman's passing in 1980. Both were active in the El Paso County Farm Bureau and Alice served as Farm Bureau Secretary for 25 years. Alice enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, motor home trips and travel to Hawaii and the East Coast with her children and grand children. Alice and Herman were held in high esteem by friends and neighbors. In Lieu of a funeral service, a visitation for family and friends will be at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO on Thursday February 23, 2006, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Instead of flowers please make donations to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E.
