Alice Ruppert Obituary

Alice Grace Ruppert passed away on September 11, 2014. Born August 15, 1921 in Jeffersonville, New York to William and Margaret Schaefer, Alice resided in New York until 1949 when she married Warren G. Ruppert. While Warren served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, they spent several decades traveling or being stationed throughout the United States and overseas. In 1964, Warren and Alice, and their three sons and one daughter settled in Colorado Springs. Alice fell in love with the picturesque Colorado landscapes, the local culture, and her extensive community of friends. She would remain in the Springs for the rest of her life.

Alice was unrivaled in her passion for cooking and entertaining guests. Her greatest joys were her family, including many of her New York relatives, most notably her nieces. Alice also cherished a wide range of strong friendships which included neighbors, fellow churchgoers, and members of her Red Hat Ladies Group. Many will miss her laughter, kindness, and sweet, smiling disposition.

Alice is survived by her daughter Roslyn (Gordon) and her sons Craig and Warren Jr. (Nancy) and two grandsons, Evan and Ryan.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren and their first born son, Glenn (who is survived by his wife Judy).

A Memorial Service will be held at the Broadmoor Community Church on September 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.

Contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice.

Truly saddened to hear of my aunt's passing. My mom, who has also departed us was one of the nieces who revered "Sis". My heart-felt condolences go out to Roslyn, Craig and Warren Jr.

Dear Craig, Roslyn, Warren and Judy and family,

This is the end of an era for the Schaefer Family. My mother (Marie Schaefer Anselm) was six weeks older than Aunt Alice and would tease her about it. I still have the Japanese dolls she sent me from Japan. Norm joins me in wishing you peace at this time of mourning.
Love,
Norm and Ellen (Anselm) Cooper

To the family of Alice Ruppert. Please accept our condolences. We have known Warren and Alice for many years. Our main contact was with within our family (Dee and Ken Ochs) who were neighbors of the Rupperts. What great social functions they were! Alice Ann and Harlan Ochs

Craig, Warren and Roslyn. I am so terribly sorry to hear of Alice's death. I tried to visit when I was home for Wayne's funeral. I regret I never got to visit with her. You were great to come to Wayne's service in June. The passing of an era is upon us. The Vogt's and Ruppert's were life long friends.
