Alice Swinehart Obituary

Alice E. Swinehart, 83, passed away May 16, 2007, at the Village at Skyline in Colorado Springs. She was born in Girardville, Pennsylvania, June 20, 1923. She came to Colorado as a girl and never wanted to leave. After her service in the Army during WWII, her life work was in finance. Her career began in locally-owned loan companies and eventually she worked her way to positions of responsibility at Norwest Financial. She retired in 1992. Although she never married or had children of her own, to family and friends, she was everyone's favorite Aunt. She is survived by her child, not of blood, but of the heart, Alice Marie Thomas and her son Kenneth W. Atkinson, her niece Becky Hughes, nephew Woody Gentzel, Jr. and their children and grandchildren, her spiritual family at Faith Lutheran Church, and all of her friends, colleagues, and former customers. A funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Security, Colorado, on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 10:00 AM.
