Allen Dreiling Obituary

Allen Othmar Dreiling, 62, of Colorado Springs, Colo, died and went to be with Our Lord on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was born to the late Othmar "Ott" and Lillian "Lila" Dreiling on June 28, 1950, in Hays, Kan. Allen graduated from Saint Joseph Military Academy-Thomas More Prep, and later received a BS in Political Science from Fort Hays State University. He married Pamela Jacobs in 1975, and they lived together in Hays, Kan, before relocating to Concordia, Kan. They divorced in 1990. Allen later married Carol Trimble on November 15, 2008, in Penrose, Colo. Allen earned a living over the years as a rodeo cowboy, farrier, sales man, law enforcement officer, insurance agent, and finally a realtor. Allen enjoyed maintaining physical and mental fitness, the camaraderie of his many friends, and always sought the Truth. Allen loved horses and transformed from a cowboy-farrier to a gentle horse trainer. Allen was most passionate about sharing his faith and spiritual convictions with others as his best effort to give God the Glory. After privately battling unusual weakness and pain in the fall of 2012, he learned he had terminal cancer in January 2013. Allen praised God for the gift of his life, wanting to live the rest of his days without surgery or treatment and drawing his strength and Daily Bread from our Heavenly Creator. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Carol, and his three adult children: Gabriel Dreiling, of Athens, Ala; Joelle Davis, of Mount Dora, Fla; and Cicely Youngblood, of Athens, Ala. He is also survived by five healthy grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Sol Amor Hospice Foundation of Colorado Springs, by Internet, Mail, or Phone, Tel: 603-964-5183. A ceremony will be held in a quiet rural setting off Highway 115 in Penrose, Colo. It will be arranged in the coming weeks. He will be sorely missed and always loved by all who knew him, especially his wife and children.

Well, Allen you are now receiving all the answers to the great metaphysical questions that we talked about many times. I will miss seeing you dear friend. I was at the gym when someone told me about this situation. I was shocked to learn about his condition. My deepest feelings to his family because I can surely empathize. My wife currently in stage iv terminal cancer in multiple locations all stemming from metastasis from the eye. I know of your sorrow. Allen and I talked about revolutionary America and current politics and religion. We both belong to Jesus Christ who guides our lives as we both tried to live by the example Jesus gave to the disciples. I am very glad to have known Allen for these many years. I will miss him. But he has passed through that door of time/eternity which waits for every human being. Make certain you choose rightly. Allen so choose. God bless you my friend. God speed.

To Allen's Family,
I am privileged to have known this man, to have been in his life and he in mine. Because of his teachings, I have learned what is like to be a Cowboy, a Christian, and a Friend with such a great man. I will always be proud to be known as Allen's Friend. I know he is where he always hoped to be, with our Father. May God Bless all of his family,& friends.

Allen, you left us way too soon... but you're having some great talks with Yeshua now, and all the mysteries of the universe have been revealed to you... You'll celebrate Passover in Heaven this year! How you will love that!
See you later...

Although I never personal met Allen face to face I did have the privilege of speaking to him over the phone on several occasions in 2013. I found him to be a fascinating man and he made a point to make sure I knew he was an Ambassador of. Christ our Lord. My sincere condolences to the family and friends for their loss.

Allen was my cousin. Two years older.
What fun we had together on our Grandparent Dreiling's farm as children. He and Leslie locked me in the chicken coop with a crazy rooster one time, hence, my fear of birds! They weren't being mean, just boys! I wish I had talked to him before it was too late. Shared memories. Laughed. Cried. I am crying now. I lost contact with a great guy with whom I shared so much as a child. His life was cut short unfairly and I will miss
knowing he is in the world. I am so sorry for his wife and children. Keep his memory alive. Joanie Baier Batchelor (Dallas, Tx)
