Amy Becker Obituary

The last written quote in her journal: "The practice of giving children specific things to pray for not only builds their faith, but also praying for others is a way to develop a heart for needs outside their own."

No one's life can be condensed into a column - certainly not Amy's! These are the statistics: she was the dear daughter of Julie and Russ Becker, the close sister to Laura Becker and sweet "Auntie Amy" to Logan. Her joy was volunteering with children's programs and doing special things for children locally as well as worldwide which she had been doing for 17 years. That unconditional love she had - what a blessing!

She was so much more than this, though. She had a strong Christian faith, a wicked sense of humor and a quiet lifestyle. She cared deeply for her family and was happiest just being together. She kept us laughing and she made life awfully good for all of us.

She died suddenly - way too suddenly. She was 33 so there should be much more to say and write, but already there are volumes written in our hearts. The picture I have of her that makes me smile? She is outside on a beautiful Colorado evening with Logan, kneeling with her hands on his shoulders. She had just told him something that was pretty funny to a four year old and they are laughing together. That's Amy!

Because she cared deeply for the children of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, memorials can be given in her memory to the church's children's ministry.
